New year and New drawings

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all have a nice and well deserved break over the festive season. I have been away from here for a month and I am back full of hope and inspiration for this new year ahead. 

I had a nice and quiet Christmas with my family, only three of us this time. I didn't do any painting as the weather have been cold, wet, dark and gloomy and I find it difficult to get inspired by. I also got a bit of sad news - the death of  one of the artists who was following me here. We also became virtual friends in Facebook. Vino Morais was a great and very inspirational artist who died on New Years Day.

Today I am posting some of my drawings I did this week  and for some of you who have been following me since beginning  will notice my style has changed slightly over the last few months. I don't know why that is, it just happens as I change and my moods and feelings change. I try to tell a story with every mark I make on the paper. Every mark I make have a bit of myself in it ...

Feliz Ano Novo! espero que tenham tido um bom feriado durante a estacao festiva. Estive ausente daqui por um mes, mas estou de volta e cheia de esperanca e inspiracao neste ano novo que se inicia.


Eu tive um Natal tranquilo, apenas nos tres desta vez. Nao pintei, pois o tempo nao estava propicio, muito escuro com os dias curtos e tambem por causa das chuvas bastante nublado e escuro durante as poucas horas do dia. Tambem tive uma noticia triste. O falecimento de um artista aqui no blog e que tambem tornou-se meu amigo virtual no Facebook. Vino Morais foi um grande artista e suas obras bastante inspiradoras. Ele faleceu no ano novo.

Hoje estou postando alguns dos desenhos que fiz nesta semana. Para alguns de voces que talvez tenha me acompanhado desde o inicio ira notar que meu estilo tem mudado um pouco nos ultimos meses. Nao sei o porque disto, apenas aconteceu... assim como eu mudei um pouco e tambem meu humor e sentimentos. Eu tento contar uma historia com cada marca que traco no papel. Cada marca tem um pouco de mim...

These are my last Nude drawings for this side of the year, I will be back with more nude drawing in January. Although, I do hope I will be able to post a few paintings before the year finish if I manage some time.
I still finding painfully difficult with the nude drawings when I think I grasped the idea and I got the hanger of it just to lose completely my confidence the next drawing..but I do eventually have a  good one after few bad ones, nevertheless, I'd like to share with you my struggles as much as  my successes in here as I know I am not alone.

Here is Blue Wizard doing a tarot reading for me ...he is also a healer and a studious in the subjects of Witchcraft, Spiritualism, Paganism and Theosophy. I decided to do this painting for the last Halloween..the painting didn't came out the way I imagined but still...

I have this painting that I did a few months ago and I didn't like so I decided to paint over it and create a new one...little flying girls...

By the way I hope you like my new redesigned website. It was subtle changes of color background and pictures more bigger... I like to change things around from time to time so people don't get bored or I don't  get too comfortable with my old ways.

My latest drawings  is a  Male nude and he  is a great model as he makes very interesting and exciting poses..shame that sometimes I can not draw his entire body in the quick poses as I get too concentrate in the head or in the colors or whatever else about the drawing I am doing that I miss out in drawing the whole body in the quick poses ( my quick poses are posted in my Flickr account  http://www.flickr.com/photos/under_the_willow_tree/ ) having said that I also  realized that I went from drawing very small poses on the paper ( when I first started drawing nude seven years ago) to drawing my poses so big that they can not fit in the whole paper. I find it difficult to draw small again so I may need a big paper..I wonder why this has happened..
